ChatGPT Lets You Keep Two Accounts Signed In at Once

Switch between work and personal without logging out, while chats, memory and billing stay apart, and a tease of “resets… banked…” follows

ChatGPT now lets you stay signed in to two accounts and hop between them without signing out. Thibault Sottiaux, who leads Codex at OpenAI, announced it on Saturday as “Day 26” of his daily run of updates: live on mobile now, with the desktop app coming soon.

OpenAI’s help page says the switcher works on the web and in the iOS and Android apps, and that only one account is active at a time. Each account keeps its own chats, memory, files, settings and plan. Nothing is merged or shared, so a paid subscription on one account does not carry over to the other. A second account can be created for free and starts on the Free plan.

Sottiaux added a teaser: “Next two days will be resets… banked… do with this what you may.” Shortly after midnight he posted just two words, “Banked 1/2.” He did not explain further in the posts we read, and his announcement passed 2.5 million views.

Carbon Tops an Exam for Bankers, Consultants and Lawyers

Gemini 4 Carbon is the only model above a 90 per cent mean on APEX-Agents, though not every coder is convinced

Gemini 4 Carbon has debuted at number one on Mercor’s APEX-Agents leaderboard, which tests long, multi-step tasks from investment banking, management consulting and corporate law. It scored 84.2 per cent Pass@1 with a 90.4 per cent mean, ahead of Gemini 4 Argon (82.4) and Claude Sonnet 5.5 (75.5). Carbon led consulting and banking; in corporate law, Argon still leads at 76.7 per cent. Demis Hassabis reposted the result.

Security researcher Nagli wrote that he has “never had so many novel discoveries while bug hunting” and keeps asking Carbon how it works through complex exploit chains.

Not everyone agrees. Theo, of t3.gg, wrote that the model “is incapable of working in a real code base without hallucinating in egregious ways”, calling it “10x worse”. The analyst behind @scaling01 summed up the mood: Google “announced Carbon and it’s like it never happened.”

Gemini Goes to the Planning Office

PlanAssist cut the time officers spend on home-extension applications by up to 58 per cent, and 12 more English councils get it next

Google DeepMind has built PlanAssist, a Gemini-based tool that helps UK planning officers with routine householder applications: loft conversions, conservatories and extensions. In pilots at Barnet, Camden and Dorset since June, it cut the average time officers spent on assessment tasks by 58 per cent.

The tool checks documents and drawings, tests the application against heritage constraints and local and national policy, looks for earlier objections, and drafts a cited report. More than 70 per cent of its reports were approved by officers with no edits. Officers keep the final say on every application.

Twelve more councils join in a 12-month beta on live applications. If testing goes well, the government plans to offer it to every council in England in 2027.

How to Build a Good Bot Team, and How One Booked a Bathhouse

A short guide from @poteto drew 600,000 views, and Matt Palmer’s bot caught two Saturday cancellations

@poteto shared a short Grok Bot guide to creating good bots and managing a team of them, and suggested readers ask @bot to read it and improve their own. The tips: add dr eggbot, the bot designer behind @poteto’s own bots; keep a few good bots instead of many; have bots write skills for themselves as you teach them; connect your tools and the vault; and onboard a bot like an intern. The favourite tip is to brain-dump by voice, then ask the bot to “restate this in your own words.”

A follow-up covered routines. Hourly is the most frequent schedule the guide recommends, because routines can get expensive, and subscription routines should filter events first. It also suggests asking bots to turn repeated work into scripts, which use fewer tokens.

Matt Palmer showed one in action. His bot checked each hour for openings at a popular San Francisco bathhouse and sushi spot, found cancellations at 2:00pm and 5:45pm on a Saturday, and pinged him in time to book. He added that the bots only watched for cancellations, not resale.

Grok Bot chat on a phone: the bot says it will check Tock every 15 minutes, reports a 2pm Saturday opening at Onsen, shows a submitted secure card form and confirms the booking

The Biggest AI Buildings, Ranked

Colossus 2 leads, two Malaysian sites crack the top ten, and a Texas town named Claude may host Google’s giant

Elon Musk wrote on Saturday that Colossus 2 will have around 1.2 million Blackwell chips by the end of the year. A ranking of AI data centres by compute, shared by @scaling01, already puts Colossus 2 first, ahead of Anthropic and Amazon’s New Carlisle site and Microsoft’s Fairwater Atlanta.

Two of the top ten are in Malaysia, both run by DayOne, whose largest customer, per @scaling01, is ByteDance. A second screenshot projects that by late 2027 the largest will be Goodnight, a Google site under construction in the town of Claude, Texas, at about 1,006 megawatts and $38.1 billion. The listing marks Google’s ownership as speculative.

Bar chart of AI data centres ranked by compute as of 31 October 2026, in H100 equivalents: Colossus 2 first at about 1.1 million, then Anthropic-Amazon New Carlisle, Microsoft Fairwater Atlanta and OpenAI Stargate Abilene; DayOne Nusajaya and DayOne Kempas in Malaysia are highlighted

A Dancing Pumpkin Robot and a City With No 3D Models

What people built with agents over the holiday

Aaron Saunders wrote that a Google DeepMind team let AI agents design, simulate and build a physical, dancing jack-o’-lantern robot with 12 degrees of freedom from a single plain-English prompt, with no manual CAD. Google DeepMind reposted it.

OpenAI Developers reposted a small city built by Mohamed (@zavrenn) with Codex and GPT-6 Astra in Three.js r187, with no imported 3D models. And Kevin Ngo kept going with @poteto’s /statechart skill and Claude Opus 5.5: an animated diagram of one animal cell’s life and an interactive 3D diagram of a Starship booster catch, both open source.

Meta’s Muse Quietly Finds Its Voice

A user spotted the voice mode, and Alexandr Wang answered with three emoji

A user, Bill Doty, wrote that Meta’s Muse voice is “soooo good” and that it “quietly rolled out on 10/24 apparently.” Alexandr Wang, who leads Meta’s superintelligence lab, quoted the post with eyes, a speaking head and an ear, and nothing more. We found no official announcement in the posts we read.
