The Daily Fledgling aims to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We work to meet the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility) Regulations, 2013, which follow Israeli Standard IS 5568, based on WCAG 2.0 level AA.הגוזל היומי שואף להיות נגיש לכל אדם, כולל אנשים עם מוגבלות. אנו פועלים לעמוד בתקנות שוויון זכויות לאנשים עם מוגבלות (התאמות נגישות לשירות), התשע״ג-2013, לפי תקן ישראלי 5568 המבוסס על WCAG 2.0 ברמה AA.
What we have doneמה עשינו
Every page has an English/Hebrew switch with correct right-to-left layout; a skip-to-content link; page landmarks and headings for screen readers; descriptive text for images and videos; labelled buttons, forms and audio players; Read more panels and enlarged images that open as dialogs, close with Esc and return focus; and a visible focus outline for keyboard users. Pages were checked with the automated axe-core tool.בכל עמוד יש מעבר בין אנגלית לעברית עם פריסה נכונה מימין לשמאל; קישור "דילוג לתוכן"; אזורי עמוד וכותרות לקוראי מסך; טקסט חלופי לתמונות ולסרטונים; כפתורים, טפסים ונגני שמע עם תוויות; חלונות "קרא עוד" ותמונות מוגדלות שנפתחים כחלון דו-שיח, נסגרים ב-Esc ומחזירים את המיקוד; ומסגרת מיקוד גלויה למשתמשי מקלדת. העמודים נבדקו בכלי האוטומטי axe-core.
Known limitationsמגבלות ידועות
The daily radio show has no written transcript yet; short demo videos have no captions (most have no speech); the vintage paper design uses textured backgrounds and small italic text whose contrast we are still reviewing; and some story text quotes other sites in their original language.לתוכנית הרדיו היומית עדיין אין תמלול כתוב; לסרטוני ההדגמה הקצרים אין כתוביות (ברובם אין דיבור); לעיצוב העיתון הישן יש רקעים מרקמיים וטקסט נטוי קטן שאת הניגודיות שלו אנחנו עדיין בודקים; וחלק מהטקסט מצטט אתרים אחרים בשפת המקור.
